Superliga back with ‘Battle of Jutland’

When the Danish football season reconvenes from its long winter slumber this weekend, it will do so with a big bang in Jutland as reigning Superliga champions FC Midtjylland host fellow title hopefuls, the 2014 winners AaB
Aalborg.

With both teams trailing leaders FC Copenhagen – Aalborg by one and FCM by four (although FCK and FCM both have a game in hand) – there will be plenty to play for on Monday night in Herning.

FCM will have home field advantage and also two competitive games under their belts in the Europe League against Manchester United, altough the Wolves will have a mighty battle on their hands at Old Trafford on Thursday night to defend their slender 2-1 lead from the first leg.

Aalborg, however, were on a roll before the break, winning eight out of their last nine matches and performing well during pre-season.
