Navy divers discover body off Langelinie pier during training exercise

Evidence suggests the body was lying on the seabed for an extended period

Divers from the Royal Danish Navy discovered a body on the seabed near the Langelinie pier in Copenhagen during their training exercise this morning.

Copenhagen Police has not yet been able to identify the body.

According to the police officer on duty, Michael Andersen, it was not immediately evident whether the person had been a victim of a crime, but the body’s condition suggests it has been lying down there for some time.

Andersen said a boat without anyone on board was spotted adrift at Langelinie on February 19, but the police do not know whether the two incidents are connected.
