Travel documentary presenter and comedian Michael Palin, a household name across the world since coming to fame with Monty Python in the 1970s, was the esteemed guest of honour at the opening of a new exhibition of art by the painter Vilhelm Hammershøi at Ordrupgaard, and he could not resist posing for a Hammershøi open door tribute.

Among those also present were Ordrupgaard director Anne-Birgitte Fonsmark and Bertel Haarder, the minister of culture (below centre, left and centre);  the actress Ghita Nørby (below bottom); and Belgian ambassador Pol De Witte (below top)
