Today marks the 211th birthday of Hans Christian Andersen, which since 1967 has been celebrated as International Children’s Book Day.
Andersen, is probably best known right now for ‘The Snow Queen’, the source material for the film ‘Frozen’ in which the four central characters – Hans, Kristoff, Anna and Sven – spell out his name.
His other works include ‘The Emperor’s New Clothes’ and ‘The Little Mermaid’.
