Early-April Performance: Who said this python is no more!

John Cleese
April 4, Mon 19:30; Slagthuset, Jörgen Kocksgatan 7A, Malmö; slagthus.se; 542kr

In the matter-of-fact manner of Mr Praline, who once said: “This parrot is no more! He has ceased to be! ‘E’s expired and gone to meet ‘is maker!”, the comic genius John Cleese returns to the stage in Last Time To See Me Before I Die, but this time in his natural guise.
It’s a hilariously dark look at the life of a British comedy legend, who during his 45-year career has brought us the neurotic hotelier Basil Fawlty, the hit 1980s film A Fish called Wanda, memorable cameos in Time Bandits and Cheers, a few outings in the James Bond franchise, and all those side-splitting Monty Python sketches. Love and Money
April 7-29, Mon-Fri 20:00, Sat 17:00; Bådteatret, Nyhavn, Cph K; whynottheatre.dk

Why Not Theatre Company presents the Copenhagen premiere of Love and Money by British playwright Dennis Kelly.
Retreading the dramatic path of a failing marriage, the play offers a keen analysis of materialism and compulsive shopping and their effect on society and relationships.
Jess (Sira Stampe – above right) and David (Malte Joe Frid-Nielsen – second right) were once in love, but are now a shopaholic wife and an indebted husband compelled to unexpected actions.
Bobbing ever so slightly up and down in the cosy confines of the boat theatre, Sue Hansen-Styles and co always provide a memorable night. (AP)
