Today marks the beginning of the regency of the future Frederik VI in 1784 – the third of the reign of his mad father Christian VII. He had looked on as a four-year-old, although perhaps not directly, as the first regent Johan Struensee – Daddy’s personal physician, Mummy’s lover and Little Sis’s old man – was executed. And then he eventually replaced his half-uncle, another f***ing Frederik, once he turned 16, eventually taking the throne at the age of 40.
