Rash of arson fires in Copenhagen

Nørrebro hit by two nights of deliberately-set blazes

There were two small fires overnight in Copenhagen’s Nørrebro district. The two fires were close too one another, and police believe they were deliberately set.

“It probably started in a trailer, and then the flames spread to a motorcycle and finally a car,” Henrik Stormer, head of security at the Copenhagen Police told DR Nyheder.

The second blaze was in Nørrebroparken, close to the location of the first.

“The fire in Nørrebroparken started in a container,” said Stormer. “Indications are that both fires were arson.”

Flames in the bin
There was a similar fire at the same location four nights ago when someone set a rubbish bin on fire.

“We may not be dealing with a dangerous pyromaniac, but there is evidence that someone in the area likes setting things on fire.”

Police are asking anyone with information to contact them on 114.
