Danish woman killed in falling accident in Spain

Woman hiking with her husband tumbled into a ravine in Mallorca

A Danish woman has died in a tragic accident on the Spanish resort island of Mallorca, according to the Spanish newspaper Cronica Balear.

The hiker reportedly fell two or three metres into a ravine on Mallorca yesterday.

The woman’s husband climbed down to try to save her, but was unable to get a signal on his mobile to call for help.

No hope
The man was alone with his wife for several hours before a passer-by heard his cries for help. A rescue helicopter was then called, but the woman could not be saved.
