There was some good news for some of the Danish teams coming out of UEFA headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland today, and less inspiring news for some of the others.
FC Copenhagen will be pleased with drawing APOEL FC of Cyprus in the Champions League playoff. Avoiding teams like Red Bull Salzburg and Celtic, the Danes will be looking to avenge their 2-3 aggregate defeat to APOEL FC in the Champions League qualifiers a few years ago.
Elsewhere, Brøndby will have to follow up on their startling defeat of Hertha Berlin by taking on yet another strong foe, this time Greek side Panathanaikos.
SønderjyskE also faces stern opposition in the shape of Czech giants Sparta Prague, while FC Midtjylland hope to repeat their sterling run in Europe last year against Turkish surprise act Osmanlispor.

Coefficient confidence
Brøndby, FCM and SønderjyskE will play their matches on August 18 and 25, while FCK will play on August 17 and 23.
Interestingly, with all of its four teams still remaining in European football at this point, Denmark finds itself at the top of the UEFA Coefficient standings for 2016/2017.
The teams have already accrued more points this season than in the three seasons preceding last season combined, and with FC Copenhagen already in the Europa League group stage, there is a healthy chance for Denmark to better its result from last year as well and jump up from its current 24th place in the overall rankings.
