Now that the last notes are fading from this year’s Smukfest, the food bank Fødevarebanken is making sure that the surplus food left behind at the many stalls is collected and finds its way to those who need it.

“When we go out and collect from festivals, we get a lot of different foods of very high quality,” Clara Sorensen from Fødevarebanken told DR East Jutland.

“Last year, we received 3,000 tonnes from food stalls and two tonnes from Capri, which is where the employees eat.”

It is too early to say how much food will be collected this year.
