Mix it up at the Copenhagen Cocktail Festival

Capital to hold its first celebration of mixed libations

If you take your tipple shaken, stirred, with a twist or in some strange and unique fashion, Copenhagen is the place to be from August 19-21.

That is the date of the city’s first cocktail festival, which is being held in collaboration with the Copenhagen Cooking and Food Festival.

Copenhagen By The Glass will showcase Danish spirits and mixology through a series of tastings and discussions. Organised by cocktail enthusiast Geoffrey Canilao of Balderdash, the even is being supported by what are being called “Copenhagen’s best bars and bartenders”.

More than booze
The show will offer talks and panel discussions with international guests like Alex Kratena and Monica Berg who will host a talk intriguingly entitled ‘What the Amazonian jungle has in common with modern bartending’.

The city’s leading bartenders will showcase their skills, and guests will be invited to sample their libations.

Along with tastings of cocktails, spirits, wine, tea and coffees, there will be seminars focusing on bartending skills, innovation and sustainability practices.

Copenhagen By The Glass will be held at Halmtorvet 11 in Copenhagen. Tickets can be purchased here.
