More than ten cars were set on fire in Copenhagen Saturday night.
The incidents took place at six different locations in the capital – mainly in Christianshavn and in the city centre.
The first car was deliberately set on fire with a flammable liquid just before midnight near Christiania, and in the following three hours, a series of similar car burnings were reported to the police.
The investigation is still ongoing and no-one has been arrested yet.
Cars torched in Sweden
However, the incident bears a resemblance to cases in Sweden, where over 70 cars have been torched in Stockholm, Uppsala, Gothenburg, Malmö, Linköping, Lund and elsewhere in the past few weeks.
“I am continuously in dialogue with my Swedish colleagues,” Rasmus Skovsgaard, the deputy police inspector, said at a press conference.
“Our goal is to stop this as soon as possible.”
