“The themes of the supported projects range widely from volunteerism and new forms of associations in Venligboerne [organisation for integration of newcomers in Denmark] to [research into] medieval meals, DIY work as a cultural practice and muscle fatigue during intensive training,” stated the culture minister, Bertel Haarder.

“I am particularly pleased that the projects reflect a high professional level, and that culture and sports research takes place across Denmark.”

Some 99 applications have been submitted to the Ministry of Culture this year, of which 19 were sent from state museums, 15 from sports organisations and 12 from culture institutions under the ministry’s administration.
