The legendary US film director Oliver Stone was in Copenhagen yesterday to present his new film ‘Snowden’ to the Danish cinema-going public.
Stone, who has directed classic films such as ‘Platoon’, ‘Wall Street’, ‘Salvador’ and ‘JFK’, was present at Imperial Cinema in the city centre to present his latest work which, as the title suggests, is based on real-life whistleblower Edward Snowden.
Stone introduced the film and had a Q&A afterwards along with the film’s British cinematographer Anthony Dod Mantle, a resident of Copenhagen who is a long-time collaborator of Danny Boyle (‘Slumdog Millionaire’, for which he won an Oscar, and current project ‘Trainspotting 2’) and Lars von Trier (‘Dogville’, ‘Antichrist’).

Oscar-bound?
Stone has won three Oscars during his notable career for best adapted manuscript with ‘Midnight Express’ and best director for ‘Platoon’ and ‘Born on the Fourth of July’.
‘Snowden’ will premiere nationwide in Denmark tomorrow on September 29.
