Denmark eyes gender equality in 2017 diplomatic shuffle

There will be new Danish diplomatic leaders in 18 nations in 2017

The Foreign Ministry has announced its diplomatic changes for 2017 in a move that takes gender equality and external recruitment into consideration.

In total, the heads of Danish representations in 18 nations will be changed, with most occurring on 1 September 2017.

By the time the changes have been made, 40 percent of the Foreign Ministry’s leaders with be women.

The changes will be completed pending acceptance from the 18 host nations.
