The government on Thursday recommended that the public wear face masks under “certain circumstances”.
The government had initially deemed wearing masks in public unnecessary. However, the recommendation was changed following COVID-19 guidelines from the World Health Organization in late June.
These special circumstances include hospital visits, being in airports or transport between so-called high risk areas. The government however did not specify what these high risk areas were.
Self-isolation
The deputy director of the Danish Health Authority, Helene Probst, maintained that those infected with the virus must isolate themselves.
Other recommendations include observing proper hygiene and social distancing.
The guideline is to keep a one-metre distance between people.
