Three vacs, one previous infection the ideal combo for avoiding serious corona symptoms

The dream scenario in terms of being protected against the current Omicron variant BA.5 doing the rounds is three vaccination jabs and one previous infection by an Omicron variant, according to a new study carried out by Statens Serum Institut (SSI), which has been published in English.

With these in place, the chances of requiring any kind of hospital treatment are 6 percent.

Around three-quarters in a very good place
The study of 164,000 people, which included 4,809 infected by the BA.5, was carried out between April and June. However, it has not been peer-reviewed.

Around 75 percent of the adult population have had at least three jabs and, according to a SSI study in the spring, around 70 percent contracted Omicron between November 2021 and March 2022.
