Indian summer hits Denmark for a while

Although the light already disappears after 8 PM, summer rests upon Denmark. This applies especially in the capital area, where the next few days offer sunshine and 25 degrees

Sea temperature is still around 20 degrees, so do go and enjoy the last touch of summer.

For the next five days – and perhaps longer – eastern Denmark and the capital area will have a brilliant Danish summer period, even though September is the first autumn month of the year.

On Wednesday, Denmark will be split in two, with Jutland getting showers and only a little sun.

In Zealand and Copenhagen the nice weather continues with temperatures from 23 degrees and up..

The same applies on Thursday and Friday and probably into the weekend, when there are good opportunities for outdoor activities.

The forecast for next week is still uncertain, yet there is a possibility that the summer weather will continue.

Hot across Europe

The summer in Europe has generally been warm and characterized by strong heat moving up over Greece from northern Africa on several occasions. It will also happen in the future.

According to climate calculations by Climate Central, heat waves will occur five times more frequently in the future, and it is expected that at least 290 million people in Europe will be challenged by the heat.

The continent of Europe is the continent that is warming the fastest, in fact up to twice as fast as the global average.

Last year, 11 out of the year’s 12 months were warmer than normal for Europe, and overall, 2023 was the second hottest year measured in Europe, surpassed only by the summer of 2022, according to TV2.

The average summer temperature for Europe has had an increasing trend for many years.
