The Copenhagen players might be smiling extra wide Monday after yesterday’s win over league rivals from Herning, FC Midtjylland.
A 1 – 0 win was netted at after Magnus Matsson converted a penalty kick in the second half, and without head coach Jacob Neestrup on the bench due to his one match ban from last week’s game against Randers.
Copenhagen was the better team in both halves, and FC Copenhagen’s Robert Silva might still wonder how he missed to score on an open chance from less than a meter from the goalline, in the first half.
Whether the Copenhagen players are smiling most when they reflect on the squandered chance from Robert, or the fact they are now heading the table alone, or that the arguably played their best match in a long time, without Neestrup on the bench is hard to say.
FC Copenhagen are off to a promising start for 2025, having won the first two league games, and securing an overall win against FC Heidenheim from Germany, in The Conference league.
