If your friends keep on telling you to relax more, then you’re in the right place, as a new report has named Copenhagen as one of the ten most relaxing cities in the world.

Compare the market based its ranking on the availability of spas, yoga centres, meditation studios and green spaces, along with the local climate.

The United States has four cities in the top ten and New Zealand two, leaving very few for the rest of the world.

Copenhagen is the only Danish city in a ranking that includes 30 in total.

Good for meditation
With 19.6 yoga centres and meditation studios per 100,000 people, Copenhagen ranked eighth in the study.

It also had a relatively high proportion of five-star hotels: the fifth largest.

However, it was let down by below average scores for green spaces and the average temperature, and overall it finished 10th in the ranking.

Florida the winner
Orlando in Florida topped the ranking followed by Wellington, Miami, Marbella and Oakland.

Orland topped the rankings for most spas and most yoga centres and meditation studios (40.6 and 78.0 per 100,000), but only finished second for the highest average temperature: some 2 degrees cooler than ‘neighbour’ Miami.

Pisa, San Francisco, Sydney, Seattle and Copenhagen completed the top ten.
