According to new figures from the national clinical quality program (RKKP), very few of the people hospitalised with COVID-19 end up in the nation’s intensive wards.
The figures showed that only 1 percent of 10,000 corona-related hospitalisations last month ended up requiring intensive treatment.
“The Omicron variant is dominant and makes people less sick. Furthermore, the third vaccine jab has also been a benefit,” Anders Perner, a professor with city hospital Rigshospitalet, said according to DR Nyheder.
In comparison, 6 percent of corona hospital patients needed intensive care treatment in November and December.
