Copenhagen to host big Ukraine donor conference

A number of northern European countries will take part in a bid to consolidate support for Ukraine’s defence of Russia’s invasion

Denmark, the UK and Ukraine have teamed up to host a critical Ukraine donor conference in Copenhagen in August.

The defence minister, Morten Bødskov, in collaboration with his counterparts from the UK and Ukraine, will welcome colleagues from a number of northern European countries to the Danish capital.

The goal is to strengthen co-operation between Ukraine and northern Europe in relation to how best to support the Ukrainians in their fight against Russia’s invasion.

Copenhagen a natural host
“I look forward to welcoming allied colleagues to Copenhagen in August – particularly my Ukrainian colleague Oleksii Reznikov,” said Bødskov.

“Denmark has assumed great responsibility for helping and supporting Ukraine and we will continue to do that. So it’s only natural for Denmark to host this important conference.”

The conference will focus on donations, financing and collaboration regarding the long-term support of Ukraine, including the training of Ukrainian soldiers.
