The China International Import Expo is now open in Shanghai

The 7th edition of the China International Import Expo (CIIE) is now open. The event, which runs until November 10, is the world’s first national-level exposition dedicated to imports. This year, the CIIE has attracted 3,496 exhibitors from 129 countries and regions.

This year, the CIIE has attracted 3,496 exhibitors from 129 countries and regions, with a record 297 Fortune Global 500 companies and industry leaders attending. Over 400 new products, technologies, and services will be unveiled, showcasing global companies’ confidence in the Chinese market despite global economic challenges.

It’s hosted at the National Exhibition and Convention Center of Shanghai, the world’s largest single-block building and exhibition complex, with a total construction area of nearly 1.5 million square meters.

Chinese Premier Li Qiang said on Tuesday, “We will further expand opening up and turn China’s vast market into great opportunities for the world.” He made these remarks during his keynote speech at the opening ceremony of the seventh China International Import Expo (CIIE) and the Hongqiao International Economic Forum in Shanghai. Li added, “Hosting the CIIE is an important measure for China to expand opening up and cooperation, and it represents China’s solemn commitment to the world.”

There’s also a touch of Denmark at the 7th China International Import Expo, as the LEGO Group is showcasing its work at the Consumer Goods Exhibition Area. The display uses over 300,000 building blocks to create a structure that stands 4.75 meters tall, featuring a rainbow and a LEGO mini-figure.

“Since the first CIIE, we’ve introduced 29 novelties at the expo, 19 of which are inspired by Chinese culture and traditions,” said Paul Huang, senior vice president of the LEGO Group and general manager
