When we started, our goal was clear: to make The Copenhagen Post your Danish connection, not only for news, but also to help our readers build a fulfilling life in Denmark. We aimed to offer experiences that would be unique for Danes as well.
With that in mind, during 2024, we organized 24 diverse events, helping participants explore places such as Christiansborg, the Town Hall at Rådhuspladsen, the Zoo, and Carlsberg. We also organized activities like the U.S. election night.
Among the special guests and guides who joined us on this journey were Member of Parliament Maria Durhuus, the Chinese ambassador to Denmark, Wang Xuefeng, Mia Nygaard, Copenhagen’s Mayor for Culture and Leisure, the curator of the Zoo, Flemming Nielsen, and many others.
During these months, 863 people became members of Connect Club, and over 500 attended the various events.
Although we’re proud of what we’ve achieved, there are things we’d do differently now. For instance, the running club—perhaps it was launched too early, and scheduling it on Saturday mornings didn’t help. We are now rethinking it to make it easier and more appealing to join in 2025.
Looking ahead, we want to do even more: new events, new places, new activities, and the return of our most successful experiences. It’s going to be an exciting second year for Connect Club.

Here are some of the most appreciated events of the Connect Club:
Art Exhibition with Artist Johan Adam Linneballe
The first event of the Connect Club will always be something special. Meeting so many readers with such inspirational energy and receiving much-valued positive feedback on our efforts gave us the courage to continue building a successful club.
Tour & Talk at City Hall
Getting the guided tour from a truly enthusiastic guide and a behind-the-scenes look at City Hall was amazing. Furthermore, being able to hear a talk from the Culture & Leisure Mayor, Mia Nygaard, emphasized a true treasure of Denmark: the open and safe democracy where one can actually meet the people in power eye to eye.
Nationalmuseet – Meet the Danes Exhibition
The National Museum is always worth a visit, and our guide was excellent. They gave an introduction to how our ways of living have changed over the last century.
Home of Carlsberg
This newly opened museum presents a very interesting story about how a father and son became the biggest brewers in Danish history, with both conflict and resolution, and how the help from their wives made the Jacobsen family one of the important patrons of Danish art and science. The tour ended with a short networking and beer event.
Visit at Christiansborg with MP Maria Durhuus
With access to both Folketingssalen and Landstingssalen, several group rooms, and a tour of the halls of Christiansborg, we heard plenty of stories about the many paintings on the walls. We also had an insightful and inspirational talk on political work from Member of Parliament Maria Durhuus.
