Books and Company has been in Hellerup for 16 years. It was opened by Isabella, who returned to Denmark after a long time abroad, being an international herself. “This is where I learned that many internationals in Denmark were interested in a sort of sanctuary, a place where they didn’t feel like outsiders—as non-Danes can often feel in Copenhagen.”

New rules for alcohol sales

From April 1, 16-17-year-olds will only be allowed to purchase alcohol with a maximum of 6% alcohol content. Previously, the limit was 16.5%. Requirements for clear signage in stores and webshops will be introduced. Violations may result in fines of 50,000 DKK.

The project for the new Copenhagen metro has been approved. It will be partially financed by increased ticket prices to the airport

The details of the new metro have been announced today. It will have nine stops, cost 33.1 billion DKK, and also pass through Lynetteholm, the future neighborhood being built on the sea. A bike lane will connect Refshaleøen and Østerbro. Tickets to and from the airport will cost 20 DKK more to help finance the project.
