Homework cafes will be obligatory

Homework cafes for pupils in Danish primary schools (lektiecafé) will be compulsory after the summer holidays.

Until now, doing homework at school has been optional and not particularly popular, especially among the older pupils who prefer to spend their afternoons differently.

From August, teachers will be able to prepare better for these sessions, knowing how many pupils will show up.

Homework cafes give children the chance to ask questions, practice what they have learnt or dig deeper into their study materials.
