Wozniacki out of Wimbledon

Not a good day for Wozzilroy

Caroline Wozniacki has once again failed to advance beyond the fourth round of Wimbledon, a tournament where she won the girls’ singles in 2006.

Her Spanish opponent Garbine Muguruza showed more guile to advance 6-4, 6-4.

Wozniacki had her chances, but as is typical in tight games, she played too defensively and did not make enough winners.

She went down fighting though – the penultimate rally of the match lasted a whopping 30 strokes.

Her exit follows today’s news that her former boyfriend, the golfer Rory McIlroy, will miss the British Open in nine days’ time after injuring his ankle playing football.
