He may not have been on a mission from God, but Dan Aykroyd came, saw, and kicked some ass while in Copenhagen this week. Well, he didn’t actually kick anyone’s ass literally, but he certainly kicked some ass in terms of attracting a huge crowd of fans.
The jovial Canadian actor – best known for his work in classic '80s comedies such as 'Blues Brothers', 'Ghostbusters' and 'Trading Places' – was in high ‘spirits’ at Juuls Vin and Spiritus bottle shop in Frederiksberg yesterday while promoting his high-end vodka Crystal Head.
“I love Denmark, they're like Canadians here. They’re polite, compassionate and they have a good sense of helping the disadvantaged, so this is a great country with lots going for it,” Aykroyd told Ekstra Bladet tabloid.
Aykroyd also mentioned Lego’s Ghostbusters set and how much he and the Ghostbusters team enjoyed working with the Danish toy giants. Even Carlsberg – one of his major competitors here in Denmark – got a mention.

Award-winning Canuck vodka
The comedian told onlookers that he hoped to convince the beer-drinking Danes to drink Crystal Head – vodka in a bottle shaped like a human skull – the same way he convinced his equally-partial-to-beer Canuck countrymen.
“Simply try to consume the best and offer them the best possible product,” Aykroyd said. “I am a Canadian and a beer drinker first. There are some occasions where beer is absolutely appropriate, but there are also occasions where a cocktail is the right way to start an evening.”
Aykroyd, 62, launched his vodka in 2007 and it has since won a number of awards. In 2013, it was named the official vodka for the Rolling Stones’ 50-year anniversary tour.
