Today’s date: Legal Abortion Proposal

On this day back in 1969, Morten Lange of the Socialistisk Folkeparti, became the first MP to propose the establishment of legal abortion for women.

The government eventually submitted its own proposal in 1972, and it was eventually approved by Parliament on 24 May 1973.
