A capital affair!

Lush backdrops in Copenhagen the movie will profile the city worldwide

Casablanca has one. And so do Philadelphia, Chicago, Munich and even Paris, Texas.

And now Copenhagen has one – a cinematic release that bears its name (a previous film called 'Copenhagen', which was released in 2002, was a TV movie), which was given a limited theatrical release in the United States on October 3.

The coming-of-age story, which details a romance between an adult man and a teenage girl, has already won numerous awards, including the Grand Jury Prize at the Florida Film Festival, the Best Narrative Feature at the Destiny City Film Festival, and the Grand Jury Prize for Best Narrative Feature at the Woods Hole Film Festival.

Danish-filmed, US-made
However, Denmark can not take credit on this occasion, even though its capital provides the backdrop for many of its scenes.

The US-Canadian film is the directorial debut of Mark Raso, a US filmmaker.

Nevertheless, one of the leads is Danish – the young actress Frederikke Dahl Hansen ('Frit fald').

'Copenhagen' is currently available for purchase or rental on iTunes.
