Indie Rock:
Death Cab for Cutie
Sun Nov 8, 20:00; Amager Bio, Cph S; 350kr
Best known for the beautiful track ‘I will follow you into the dark’, the indie rock band have just released their eighth studio album, Kintsugi, which is aptly named after a Japanese art movement in which broken ceramics are fused with precious metals to be repaired.
The title was inspired after Chris Walla, one of the guitarists, left the group after 17 years. The new songs, therefore, are just as much about reconciling with the past as moving forward. Listen to the breathtaking guitar work on ‘Ingenue’ and ‘You’ve haunted all my life’ and delight in the album’s melancholic beauty.
Let’s hope that even without Walla they play heartfelt old hits like ‘A Lack of color’ or ‘Soul meets body’. (EN)
