Two people arrested over bomb threat at Copenhagen Airport

Suspicious suitcase contained no explosive

Two people were arrested following the evacuation of Terminal 3 at Copenhagen Airport shortly after lunchtime today.

The evacuation was the result of a suspicious suitcase and airport personnel overhearing a conversation between two individuals in which the word “bomb” was allegedly used.

Must be examined
Now, police have reportedly arrested the two individuals in question, though they have yet to comment on the rest of the conversation or if there was anything else suspicious about the two people involved.

“There was a conversation between two people where the word ‘bomb’ was mentioned,” said police spokesperson Steen Hansen. “That started the action. When you find out that one of them has a suitcase, it must be examined.”

Alert called off
Police evacuated the terminal and called in the bomb squad who used a remote-controlled vehicle to examine the suitcase, which was found to contain neither explosives nor any other dangerous materials. The alert was called off at about 2 pm.
