The construction of the new university hospital in Odense, Nyt OUH, will be delayed by up to six months.
The reason for the rescheduling of the 6.3 billion kroner structure is an error in the planning of the equipment and staff rooms that would not give personnel enough space to perform anesthesia.
The mistake was discovered accidentally by the hospital staff, who are complaining that they haven’t been involved enough in the planning of the largest ever construction project in southern Denmark.
The hospital is to replace the current Odense University Hospital situated in a town just south of the University of Southern Denmark (SDU), and a new health faculty will be inaugurated to facilitate a stronger link between hospital staff and researchers.
