Danes travelling to Iceland over the rest of the week have been assured they should have no difficulties despite the island yesterday experiencing its strongest storm for 25 years as hurricane-force winds hit the south and southeastern coasts of the island, reports DR.
There were flight delays due to the storm, but departure times have now returned to normal.
Nevertheless, strong winds of 20-25 m/s continue to affect the entire country today.
The violent storm included gusts of up to 60 m/s. Temperatures fell to minus 5 degrees Celsius as heavy snowfall accompanied the storm, resulting in little to no visibility and many roads being closed.
