An employee of Scandinavian Airlines was seriously hurt yesterday after colliding with the wing of a Cimber aeroplane.

The SAS worker apparently struck the plane while operating a towing vehicle and was rushed to the city hospital Rigshospitalet.

“A serious work accident occurred in connection with the technical testing of an aircraft,” Anna Nielsen, a SAS spokesperson, told TV2 News.

“We are focusing on contacting the next of kin and letting our other employees know what happened.”

Investigation pending
Nielsen said the cause of the accident was unknown, but that an investigation had been launched.

There were no passengers on board the aircraft at the time of the accident.
