Owners of family business parent company will cease if police say stop

The owners of Cykelstativet ApS, which removes bikes parked in front of businesses and charges owners to reclaim them, will pull the plug on the company if Copenhagen Police find their business model to be against the law, TV2 reports.

“It goes without saying that we’re not interested in having shares in a company that breaks the law,” Frederik Riskær Pedersen wrote in an email to TV2.

Pedersen and his brothers are the shareholders of Reboot ApS, which, according to its latest annual report, owns 100 percent of Cykelstativet.

The brothers’ father Klaus Riskær Pedersen, an entrepreneur convicted of fraud in 2007 and former member of the European Parliament for Venstre, reportedly claimed in 2011 that he worked as a consultant for Reboot ApS.

The cycklists’ interest group Cyklistforbund accuses Cykelstativet of extortion and theft.
