Jean-Michel Jarre will perform in Copenhagen as part of his Electronica World Tour. The French composer and electronic musician will visit Denmark for the first time since appearing at the Jelling Music Festival in 2011.

The seated concert will take place at Falconer Salen on October 26. Jarre will perform music from Electronica 1 and his soon-to-be-released album, Electronica 2: The Heart of Noise, as well as classic material from Oxygène and Equinoxe.

44-stop tour
The world tour will encompass 44 stops, running from June to December. After Copenhagen, he will move through Scandinavia, playing in Oslo, Stockholm and finally Helsinki on October 31.

Jarre will also be making an appearance at Germany’s Melt Festival and Sonar in Barcelona, with the fitting final date in Paris on December 12.

Keenly anticipated
Hype has been steadily growing for Jarre’s latest musical offering. Electronica 1’s major pairings included Fuck Buttons, M83 and Boys Noize. Cyndi Lauper, Peaches and Primal Scream are also among the impressive rumoured pairings for part two, of which the imminent release via Columbia Records will take place on May 6.

Jarre’s previous concerts have not disappointed, with 2.5 million people turning up to watch him at La Défense in Paris in 1990.

Became vampirised
Last year, the pioneer of 70s synth music told The Guardian that he became “vampirised by lights, lasers and big concerts” and instead wanted to apply his focus back on the music.

But if the Electronica’s catalogue of iconic contributors is anything to go by, it’s doubtful Jarre has given up the concert spectacle and sacked the pyrotechnic guy just yet.
