Danish police arrest four people enlisted to commit terror attacks for Islamic State
Copenhagen Police and the Danish security authority PET have today arrested four people suspected of being enlisted by the jihadist militant group IS to commit terror attacks, reports DR.
According to the police, all of the suspects are accused of violating the Danish penal code on terrorism and could be sentenced to life in prison.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for tomorrow and will take place behind closed doors.
“The arrests took place as part of efforts to fight people enlisting for terrorist groups in the war-torn areas in Syria and northern Iraq,” revealed the Copenhagen Police in an official statement.
“The suspects have been identified through investigations carried out in close co-operation between PET and the Copenhagen Police.”
