Two days of delving deep into days gone by beckons at Historical Days in the atmospheric old cattle hall of Økneshallen.

There are more than 100 events, around 75 exhibitors, lectures, debates, films and displays. There are even travel companies offering history holidays for the adventurous.

Saturday’s diverse program includes a historical underwear show and Middle Ages fighting in full armour.

Sunday takes a closer look at portraits of both latter-day Vikings and today’s Syrians, and one of the highlights is a talk from a concentration camp survivor.
