A rescue operation involving lifeboats, divers and a helicopter saved four people from drowning in the Øresund near the island of Saltholm on Monday afternoon.
A resident of Saltholm raised the alarm, leading to the rescue, reports Metroxpress.
Condition unknown
Initially, reports emerged there were six people in trouble, but police arrived to find four.
One was saved by helicopter and one was rushed to the hospital in an ambulance. Police don’t yet know if their condition is stable.
Copenhagen Police are now trying to figure out how the swimmers ended up in the waters near Saltholm. They suspect they may have swum over from the artificial island of Peberholm.
