Volbeat tops ‘Mainstream Rock Songs’ chart in the US

Danish heavy metal band Volbeat, a big draw in the United States for several years now, are top of the ‘Mainstream Rock Songs’ American Billboard chart with ‘The Devil’s Bleeding Crown’.

The Zealanders are currently in the US promoting the single, the first from their fifth studio album, ‘Seal the Deal & Let’s Boogie’, which is due out on June 3.

Nowhere near ‘7 years’
It is the band’s fifth number one in the ‘Mainstream Rock Songs’, which should not be confused with the popular Billboard Top 100, which ranks singles of all music genres.

Put in perspective, ‘The Devil’s Bleeding Crown’ did not even make the Top 100, where Lukas Graham’s widely popular hit ‘7 years’ has been for 16 consecutive weeks and still holds third place.

This summer, Volbeat are touring different European countries and will be playing at the Tinderbox Festival in Odense on June 24 and at Nibe Festival on June 29.
