Five men were convicted today of the gang-rape of a Danish tourist in New Delhi in 2014. The men were found guilty of raping and robbing the 52-year-old woman, who they attacked at knifepoint after she got lost returning to her hotel in New Delhi.
The woman, who was travelling alone, approached a group of men for directions. She was then attacked. Nine men were subsequently accused in the January 2014 attacks.
Juveniles still being tried
Three others charged in the attack are being tried separately in the juvenile justice system. The final accused attacker died before the end of the trial.
The attack spurred protests and global headlines about the treatment of women in India.
