Danish police warning motorists not to stop for beggars while driving

Cops on the lookout for a black Mercedes

Police in southeastern Jutland are on the lookout for a black Mercedes whose occupants have at least twice tried to stop other motorists on the highway and hit them up for money or “something else”.

A bad idea to be a good Samaritan
The reports have come from motorists driving on the E45 near Skanderborg. Police said the witnesses described the drivers of the Mercedes as ‘Roma’.

“It’s a problem at the moment,” said police spokesperson Henrik Dam.

“Don’t stop. If people need help, most have a mobile phone they can use to call the police.”
