Danish biotech sector the best in Europe

Denmark behind US and Singapore globally on 2016 Scientific American Worldview scorecard

From Novo Nordisk and Genmab to Bavarian Nordic and Novozymnes, there is little doubt that the Danish biotech industry is among the world leaders.

And now, for the second year in a row, the Danish biotech sector has been ranked top in Europe and among the top three in the world by the Scientific American Worldview biotech magazine.

As in prior Scientific American Worldview scorecards, the United States ranks at the top of the list for overall innovation, followed by Singapore, Denmark, New Zealand and Australia.

Yanks yards ahead
Aside from the Intensity category for which it ranked number one, Denmark also scored high marks for being a business-friendly environment, its research and development personnel, and entrepreneurship and opportunities.

Switzerland, Finland, the UK, Sweden and Canada completed the top ten.
