Best of late-February music: Sekuoia to usher in March

Sekuoia
Fri 27 Feb, 21:00; Zoologisk Museum; 150kr

Working under the eccentric moniker Sekuoia, the Copenhagen-born producer Patrick Alexander Bech Madsen creates a brand of electronica that touches on a wide range of genres.

Demonstrating an uncanny ability to create laid-back, spiritually uplifting and off-tempo beats, Sekuoia has not surprisingly caught the attention of Berlin’s club circuit.

As part of the Project Mooncircle Faces 12" series, he recently teamed up with Britain’s Rain Dog to produce Finest Ego Vol 3.

On top of the promise of something new for your ears, note the off-the-beaten-track venue.

Since 1997, Usher has been a global pin-up renowned for suave dance moves and chill-groove R ‘n’ B. Back in the swing of things, his eighth studio album, UR, is due out this year.

Kokomo Kings

Few blues bands of the Kings’ pedigree exist nowadays. A collaborative project between Swedish and Danish blues musicians, the quartet taps into the sound of Mississippi dust bowl blues, reviving old-style rock ‘n’ roll.
