Nicklas Bendtner faces a hefty fine after the indictment from his weekend drink driving incident showed that his blood alcohol level was three and a half times over the legal limit, a level that has been confirmed by the prosecutor in the case.
Bendtner’s drink driving case is scheduled for 15:00 today at the Copenhagen City Court, after he was caught by the police drink driving the wrong way down a one-way street on Saturday night.
According to the indictment, Bendtner also failed to produce a valid driver’s licence and had trouble speaking properly.
Bendtner's' 0.175 blood alcohol percentage is the equivalent of a 100 kilo man drinking ten drinks in two hours, according to a blood alcohol calculator at www.bloodalcoholcalculator.org.
Bendtner has hired star attorney Michael Juul Eriksen to represent him in the case.
The Danish footballer will not go behind bars, but could lose the right to drive for three years and receive a million-kroner fine.
Yesterday, Bendtner was handed a six-month ban by the Danish football association, DBU.
Bendtner plays for Italian side Juventus, where he is on loan from Premiership side Arsenal, but is currently injured.
