UPDATE: Danish teen missing in Italy found dead

19-year-old reportedly fell or jumped from a bridge in Florence after a night out with school mates

The Foreign Ministry has confirmed that the Danish teen who went missing on a school trip to Florence has been found dead.

The 19-year-old’s parents have been notified.

A 19-year-old Dane on a school trip to Florence has gone missing in Italy, according to the Italian newspaper, Corriere della Sera.

The male teenager apparently went missing on Tuesday night after falling – or jumping – from the Ponte Amerigo Vespucci Bridge into the river Arno following a night out with school mates in a nearby disco.

Local police, emergency responders and helicopters are still searching for the teen, whose disappearance has been confirmed by the Foreign Ministry.
