Learning Experience Designer and Project Manager

Would you like to contribute to supporting the fight for a more equitable and sustainable world? Are you a skilled digital learning professional? Learning Lab, a specialised learning team in DanChurchAid (DCA), is offering a unique position to design meaningful digital learning experiences and manage digital learning projects.

You will be part of an innovative and dynamic team of 11 colleagues all working towards creating and promoting impactful learning experiences in the communities we serve. We collaborate with units and country offices internally in DCA, but also with many other organisations around the world. Learning Lab also facilitates the global Fabo Learning Community, a membership-based community with 32 member organisations. Our digital learning platform provides easy access to learning technology for organisations, big and small.

Your role involves two main areas of responsibility. The first relates to our work designing self-paced and blended learning experiences. The other area involves project management of our learning projects and processes.

Learning Experience Designer

As a learning experience designer, you will work on a wide variety of projects creating learning content and designing mainly self-paced learning experiences and resources. You will collaborate with colleagues, subject matter experts, and learners in the process from analysis, design, and prototyping to production, testing, and implementation. Your work will involve a wide range of tasks such as mapping learner personas and outcomes together with SMEs and stakeholders, content mapping and designing learning flows, and prototyping and producing engaging content, case stories, and interactive activities.

Learning Lab hosts a Moodle-based learning platform, which provides access to learning experiences and resources created by Learning Lab as well as the Fabo member organisations themselves. Over 70,000 learners have access to this material, alongside our member organisations. The major part of the learning experiences you will create in your role as learning experience designer, will be created directly on the learning platform and it’s native authoring tools.

Project Manager

As one of our project managers, you will manage projects, and ensure the design and production team reaches necessary milestones to successfully complete the project within the specified timeframe and budget. You will be responsible for managing the project from framing to implementation.

In addition to the more conventional project management, you will potentially also be supporting Learning Lab’s learning advisor and managing more projects with a greater focus on the process and work on how to integrate learning processes into existing programmes and projects being implemented in DCA.

Key responsibilities in Learning Lab:

  • Design relevant and engaging learning experiences by analising learner needs, gaps and preferences, mapping learning content and designing flows in close collaboration with subject matter experts.

  • Project management of learning and capacity sharing projects and processes

  • Other tasks and assignments as needed.

Required qualifications:

  • 3+ years’ experience with Learning Experience Design / Instructional Design, including experience with developing self-paced digital learning in either authoring tools or directly in a learning management system
  • 2+ years’ experience as project manager
  • Educational background within learning/education, design, or another relevant field
  • Knowledge and working experience with applying universal design principles and human-centred approach to learning.

  • Advantage: Experience with digital graphic design or motion graphics
  • Advantage: Proficiency in Arabic, French, Danish or Spanish
  • Advantage: Experience with learning development in Moodle LMS

As a person, you are:

  • Analytic, empathetic, and able to put yourself in the position of our learners.
  • Structured and organised
  • Able to adapt to changing work situations and circumstances
  • A strong team player with a collaborative mindset
  • Motivated by making a difference and contributing to positive change for our learners.

We offer:

  • An exciting workplace with highly engaged and skilled colleagues
  • Permanent contract
  • 37 hours/week, incl. lunch
  • Flexible working hours and the possibility of working 1-2 days from home
  • Possibly travel to DCA Country offices, Fabo members or in relation to project work
