Today’s date: Origins in humble hangars

Marking 90 years of Copenhagen Airport

Kastrup Airport, better known today as Copenhagen Airport, was founded 90 years ago on 20 April 1925.

One of the first civil airports in the world, its first terminal – designed by Vilhelm Lauritzen– was made of wood and had two hangars, a balloon mast and several grassy areas that were used as runways.
