Clouds, rain and wind: The weather is a changin’

Clear and dry days are about to morph into more ‘traditional’ Danish weather in the coming days

Well it was nice while it lasted, but the sunny and dry weather is set to dissipate for now.

According to national weather forecaster DMI, our immediate horizon will be one brimming with wind, rain and cloud cover.

The more ‘traditional’ Danish weather is set to lay siege later today, with clouds and rain steadily sweeping across the country.

And it will really take a turn for the worse late tonight, as upwards of 30mm of rain could fall over the next 24 hours (see map below).

“Over the course of Wednesday night, we will see lots of rain and sleet, and the wind will also gather momentum,” Anna Christiansson, a DMI meteorologist, told BT.

Get your ‘hygge’ on
DMI went as far as warning that the winds could reach gale-force levels – which is close to the point when weather warnings are issued.

There’s even a possibility of seeing some snow in some areas of the country.

Temperatures are expected to rise slightly to around 5-7 degrees later tomorrow, though it might not feel warmer outside.

“Now we’ve had a bit of sunshine and we are about to see the opposite: clouds, wind and condensation. So yes, some ‘hygge’ under the covers is probably on the menu,” said Christiansson.
